If you get this error during the FTP settings check try checking that the directory on the FTP server setting is correct. It can be useful to clear the directory setting and using the "Browse" button to find a folder on the server.

If the folder is shown in the "Browse" dialog, then it could be that you don't have permission to upload files into that folder. Try choosing a different folder on the server.
